FA opens investigation into death of Sheffield United player Maddy Cusack

It's understood a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Sheffield United player Maddy Cusack has been opened by the Football Association.

The Blades commissioned a third-party investigation after concerns were raised by Maddy's family, which at the end of last year found no wrongdoing by anyone connected to the club.

Now that investigation has concluded, The FA says it felt it would be appropriate to assess the relevant information of the case to understand whether or not any further action is required

A spokesperson goes on to say 'we are in dialogue with Maddy's family and the club during this process'.

We've approached Sheffield United and the Cusack family for a comment.
