Emergency services have been testing out how they'd cope if there was a terror attack in South Yorkshire.

They've been doing a training exercise at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster.

The scenario is based around a suspected terror attack which has left people contaminated by poisonous chemicals (it's really a mock-up with local college students who've been covered in powder!)

It's given fire and rescue crews, as well as police from across Yorkshire and Humber, the chance to check out how they'd work together if there was a major incident like this.

At the simulation in Doncaster crews had to deal with decontaminating anyone who was affected with officers in special protective suits as well as showers-tents.

There were a number of fire engines and incident response units.

SYFR Group Manager Andy Hayter said:

"Although it is extremely unlikely that an incident such as this would occur in South Yorkshire, recent international events have once again highlighted the importance of public organisations testing their emergency response procedures to assure the safety of the communities we serve.

"Routine exercises like this one enable the emergency services and other organisations to practice their responses and, for fire services in particular, to test their ability to deploy to large scale incidents beyond their usual borders."

At the same time another incident was simulated in Rother Valley, challenging them to deal with multiple large-scale events.
