Sheffield Eagles have signed back-rower Nick Staveley, following his release from Castleford Tigers.

The 21 year old has put pen to paper on a deal keeping him at the Olympic Legacy Stadium until the end of the 2026 season.

He started his pro career at Hull FC, debuting during a Challenge Cup match against Castleford Tigers in 2023.

He was also spent time on loan at Newcastle Thunder, before a recent trial with Cas.

Speaking to the Eagles website, Head Coach Craig Lingard said “I’m really pleased to get him in, he’s another body we needed to get in.

“He’s had a season out with an ACL injury which he got whilst he was at Hull, but he was getting a run of games in their side at the start of last season, and I’m excited to see what he can bring to us.”
