Doncaster School Shuts over 'Sickness Bug'
A school in Doncaster's been closed for a "deep clean" after at least 60 pupils there have fallen ill.
A Doncaster school's been shut for a "deep-clean" after a number of staff and pupils there have been ill. At least 60 kids at Bentley High Street Primary have come down with what the headteacher, Janis James, has described as a "sickness bug".
There have been reports that it's an outbreak of "suspected Norovirus".
Ten members of staff have also been poorly.
Mrs James told us that they've "never closed like this" before but staying open "wouldn't have been fair on the other students."
She said they've shut after taking advice from the council and Public Health.
A statement on the school's website says:
"Due to a high number of pupils contracting a sickness bug, school has been closed for deep cleaning. We will be open on Monday 9th February for business as usual."
