Doncaster rapist handed 14 year prison sentence
The 52 year old forced his way into his victim's home on two occasions to sexually assault her
A Doncaster man has been jailed for 14 years after being convicted of raping a woman on two occasions.
52 year old Peter Stone, of Thirlmere Gardens, targeted his victim with a 'campaign of controlling behaviour'
During 2024 he forced his way into her home to sexually assault her.
His victim came forward to police on November 9, leading to Stone's arrest five days later.
He was convicted of two counts of rape and one count of coercive or controlling behaviour at Sheffield Crown Court on May 16 and was jailed on Wednesday (June 4).
Detective Constable Cameron Vernon, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “I would like to recognise the incredible bravery of Stone’s victim in facing him in court, and providing evidence that was crucial in seeing him convicted of these despicable crimes.”
“Stone is a dangerous individual who caused this woman immeasurable pain for months, subjecting her to fear and physical violence.
“I am very happy to see Stone jailed for 14 years, and I hope that this sentence encourages other victims of sexual violence to report these crimes to police.
“We will investigate every report and take action to see justice done.”
