Nine arrested in Doncaster on suspicion of firearms and arson offences
Police were called to a string of incidents late last week and over the weekend

Nine people have been arrested after a string of suspected arsons and firearms incidents across Doncaster.
Officers were first called to Mear Close in Askern at 9:40am on Friday (December 20).
Later, at around 9:30pm, the were called to reports a car had collided with the same property they were called to earlier in the day.
Thee were further reports of arson on Balfour Road in Bentley and Kings Road in Askern on the same day.
Yesterday (December 22), police were called to reports of a gun being fired in the Lodge Road and Hawthorne Grove areas, with firearms officers attending incidents in Wolsey Avenue and Manor Estate.
No injuries have been reported and investigations are ongoing.
District Commander Pete Thorp, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “I understand that residents will be concerned by these incidents.
“We responded immediately to the reports of firearms offences and have taken quick action to arrest a number of suspects.
“We will continue the vital work to identify those involved in this mindless violence, lock them up, and remove firearms from the community.”
