A family in Doncaster has had its Christmas ruined after their home was burgled.

Officers are now investigating and have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

On Sunday 20 December, it was reported that a house in Clayfield View, Mexborough was broken into at about 2.45pm and a number of Christmas presents stolen. The burglar got in by smashing a window and then searched the house before leaving towards Coniston Road flats. PC James Harding said:* *

ā€œThe occupants of this house have had their Christmas ruined by the offender responsible for this intrusive crime. ā€œThe offender has opened all of the familyā€™s Christmas presents and cards from their loved ones and has removed gift money from various cards.

ā€œAlong with a quantity of cash, a number of electronics and jewellery items were also stolen.

ā€œThe despicable actions of this offender have left the family extremely upset at what should be a very happy time of the year for them.

ā€œWe are keen to speak to the man pictured in this image and would ask anyone with information, or who knows who the man could be, to contact police.ā€

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
