A 35-year-old dad who suffered life-threatening injuries following an alleged assault outside a pub in Askern last month has died in hospital.

Emergency services were called at around 1.20am on Monday 30 May to High Street, Askern, following reports a man had been seriously assaulted outside the White Hart pub.

He was taken to hospital where he remained in a critical condition until he died earlier this week.

He's been named as Darron Januszkiewicz, a local man who leaves behind a wife and two small children.

A 34-year-old man from Askern was charged with Section 20 wounding in connection with the incident.
