South Yorkshire Police are investigating a serious collision which happened in Suffolk Road at the junction with Granville Road in Sheffield.

Officers were called to the scene at 7.25pm on Friday 29 November where it was reported a car had been in collision with a pedestrian.

It is understood the vehicle, a red Lexus, was travelling on Suffolk Road in the direction of Queens Road when it was in collision with a 36-year-old man as he crossed the road.

The man was taken to hospital, where he currently remains, with injuries which are being described as life-threatening.

A number of road closures were put in place while emergency services worked at the scene. They were lifted around 1am on Saturday 30 November.

The force is now appealing for witnesses and is particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dash-cam footage which could help the investigation.
