Four boys, a girl and a 62-year-old woman were among six people injured in a reported air rifle shooting in a street in Sheffield on Wednesday (August 14).

Emergency services were called to Richmond Park Avenue at around 14:23BST, where they arrested five people - a 15-year-old girl, two boys aged 15 and 16, and two 18-year-old men.

South Yorkshire Police said three of the children hurt needed an operation to remove a pellet from their bodies.

All those arrested have since been released on bail, and the force is asking to speak to any witnesses.
