Chesterfield's MP tells us he is not optimistic the town can escape Tier Three restrictions before Christmas.

Ministers will review the current tiering tomorrow. They will look at things like the rate of cases, the number of over 60s affected and the percentage of tests that are coming back as positive.

Despite cases falling in Chesterfield, Toby Perkins tells us he think it'll stay in the highest level of rules.

He said: "My sense is that government are not going to be moving many districts from Tier Three to Tier Two, when the current regime is reconsidered on the 16th. But, I will be raising questions about that with the health secretary.

"I don't have huge optimism about Chesterfield moving into tier Two, but I will continue to make the case that districts should be looked at on their own individual merits - and that the North should be given the same generosity and the same regimes that have been in place in London."

The MP says businesses will need more support, should the town stay in the toughest tier of restrictions.
