A celebration has been taking place today to celebrate John Burkhill reaching his £1m fundraising achievement.

The iconic Pram Man has been fundraising for MacMillan Cancer charity for yeas and can always be spotted in South Yorkshire in his green wig, pushing a pram.

People have been gathering in the Winter Gardens today to mark the occasion.

John told Hallam FM News:

"It's unbelievable really, when they told me I had reached the million quid mark...I knew we were close, but I didn't realise how close! I knew we'd do it, but it's a crazy idea in the first place, but it's worked.

"How do you put this into words, you can't can you. I feel very emotional in a lot of many ways, I'm lost for words.

"I'm just a bit sad one of my sons can't be here, he's having cancer treatment at the moment. He said 'carry on dad as long as you can' so it's a thing I've got to keep doing.

"As long as I can put one foot in front of the other after my bread and dripping in a morning, I'll keep fundraising."
