"Don't turn a blind eye to child abuse".

That's the message from one of South Yorkshire's MPs as she launches a new campaign to help prevent it.

Rotherham MP and Shadow Minister for Preventing Abuse, Sarah Champion, said:

"The horror and scale of child exploitation has shocked me to the core, and I have become increasingly frustrated that we only seem to act once the crime has been committed. I believe it is time to lead the cultural fightback, starting with Dare2Care, to make sure that all children are properly supported and informed to prevent abuse happening."

Dare2Care brings together survivors, campaigners, charities and experts to discuss ways to make changes to the law, services and people's attitudes.

They'll look at areas including parenting and relationship education and then young people themselves will get the chance to debate the recommendations.

The campaign's already got the backing of a number of orgnisations including the NSPCC, Girlguiding and Women's Aid.

A new website, which is the first of its kind, has been created and will offer resources to support young people, parents and professional about what abuse is and how they can report it.

It's as a third of girls aged between 13 and 17 who are in a relationship say they've experienced sexual violence.
