The return of Chris Wilder won't be the only change Sheffield United fans notice when they file into Bramall Lane on Saturday, as work has now been completed to bring safe standing to the stadium.
It comes after the club confirmed earlier this year that 3,000 rails would be fitted at the back of the Kop, allowing fans to be on their feet during matches.
Standing places used to be common in England's football stadiums, but were largely phased out after the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster.
Now Bramall Lane has become the latest to bring it back under new safety guidelines.
A safe standing area on the Kop has been approved by independent inspectors, with 400 seats being made available for the visit of Charlton on Saturday.
Bob Dyson, chair of the Fan Advisory Board, commented: "We are delighted that the Safe Standing plans and implementation are coming to fruition after many months of discussion."
"We are all sure it will make a huge difference to the atmosphere in the stadium making the Kop the heartbeat of the support again!
"Rest assured the club will work hard, through consultation, to meet the needs of all supporters. Please keep your feedback coming we are here to listen and work with our club as your Fan Advisory Board as we build and develop."
Season ticket holders who find themselves in or near the new safe standing area can opt to be seated elsewhere.
