Police searching for a missing woman from Doncaster have found a body.

The 63-year-old woman, known as Pam and Shirley, went missing on 14 March.

She was seen leaving an address in Winchester Avenue at around 19:30 GMT, and is thought to have appeared on CCTV a short distance away, at around 20:00GMT.

While formal identification is yet to take place, South Yorkshire Police believe the body belongs to Pam.

The discovery comes just days after her family released a plea for her to come home, describing her as a "much-loved wife and mum."

Detectives had searched Sandall Beat Wood, near to where Pam was last seen, using drones and dogs during their operation.

In a statement released late on Monday night, the South Yorkshire force said: "We want to take this opportunity to thank the public who have been incredibly supportive in sharing our appeals about Pam’s disappearance, as well as handing out posters and carrying out their own searches.

"We also want to extend our thanks to partners including Doncaster Council, Mountain Rescue and Lowland Rescue, who have helped both spread the word and assisted with searches.

"Our thoughts are with Pam’s loved ones at this most difficult of times."
