Barnsley fans have lined the streets to pay their respects to club legend Norman Rimmington. His funeral procession made its way past the club's Oakwell stadium to allow fans to say goodbye to the man who'd been a player, assistant manager, groundsman, physio and kit man.

He died at the age of 93 on 29th December last year - just days before being named on the Queen's New Year's Honour's List. He'd been awarded a British Empire Medal.

Rimmington - known as 'Rimmo' - had been involved in the club for over 70 years, originally signing as a goalkeeper back in 1945.

A rememberance service was held at Oakewell's legends Suite today after a service at a local church and then Barnsley Crematorium.

At the time of his death, the club said in a statement:

"Barnsley Football Club ran through Norman’s veins and he embodied everything good about our town and our people. Through his commitment and service to the Club over the decades Norman became affectionately known to the fans as ‘Mr Barnsley’ - a fitting tribute to a man who devoted his life to the Club."
