Man fatally injured in Barnsley crash named as family pay tribute
40 year old Anthony Shephard was hit and killed by a car on Harbough Hill Road last week
A man who was hit by a car and killed in Barnsley last week has been named as 40 year old Anthony Shephard.
Police were called to Harbough Hill Road on Friday (September 19) to reports a blue Audi A3 had struck a pedestrian.
Anthony was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family said: “Anthony has been taken away from us in the most tragic of circumstances.
“We have lost a loving son, dad to three children, brother, nephew, cousin and uncle. He will be very sadly missed.
“We would like to thank South Yorkshire Police for their support and thank the people who tried to help Anthony at the scene.
“We as a family would appreciate privacy at this difficult time.”
Two people, a 17 year old boy and a 20 year old man, have both been questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on bail.
