Barnsley have beaten Bolton in the second leg of their League One play-off semi-final tonight (Friday, 19 May).

The teams were level at 1-all going into the game at Oakwell - with Barnsley winning 2-1 on aggregate.

The Reds will now face Sheffield Wednesday in the final.

Barnsley and Bolton were level going into tonight's game.

But a goal by Liam Kitching in the first half secured a Wembley trip for the Reds.

A year on from relegation from the Championship, supporters couldn't hide their excitement by invading the pitch - despite pleas from officials not to.

On social media, fans have been heaping praise on the side:

Barnsley captain Mads Andersen told Sky Sports:

“Reaching the final means a lot if we win it, so let’s go there and win it.

“It was the best atmosphere in my time in Barnsley, it was a good experience.

“I’m excited to face Sheffield Wednesday, it’s going to be a very big game and I’m looking forward to it.”

The Tykes are just 90 minutes away from a return to the second tier.

They will meet Sheffield Wednesday at Wembley a week on Monday.
