Sam Winnall scored his 17th goal of the season as Barnsley's fine run of form continued with a 3-0 win over Bury in Sky Bet League One.

The Tykes extended their streak of consecutive wins to seven games after Marley Watkins opened the scoring after 20 minutes.

The midfielder found space on the left and his low shot managed to find its way past Ian Lawlor at his near-post to give managerless Barnsley the lead.

Lawlor kept out a shot from Adam Hammill early after the break as the hosts piled on the pressure, but they didn't have to wait long before extending their lead as Winnall found the back of the net to continue his rich vein of form.

Hammill completed the scoring after the hour mark, firing into the roof of the net to wrap up the points and move Barnsley into the top 10 - impressive given how Lee Johnson only left the club for Bristol City on Saturday.
