A 17-year-old boy has been arrested following reports of another teenager being stabbed in Sheffield on Tuesday (March 26).

Police were called to Firth Park at around 17:00GMT and a boy aged 16 was taken to hospital with multiple suspected stab wounds.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and he remains in a stable condition.

Detectives are now questioning a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of assault, and are asking to speak to any witnesses.

They also want to see possible CCTV and dashcam footage from the time of the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Oughton said:

"Officers are working round the clock to investigate the circumstances of this incident and I would encourage anyone who was in the area at the time and has any information that could help officers to contact the police.

"We understand that people don't always feel able to report to police, so if you don't want to speak to us directly, you can stay anonymous and pass on what you know via Crimestoppers."
