Staff at a Toby Carvery in the East Dene area of Rotherham have been left 'extremely frightened and distressed' following an armed robbery last night.

It's reported three men armed with shotguns and a handgun threatened staff as they waited outside the premises off Eastgate Trading Estate at around 11.20pm.

They stole cash as well as a number of personal items from employees.

The men are described as wearing motorbike jackets and gloves, as well as bike helmets over balaclavas.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Paul Wilson said: “This was an extremely aggressive incident which has left staff extremely frightened and distressed.

“Specialist officers are supporting the victims and an investigation is underway to find those responsible.

“We urge anyone who was in the area at the time or has any information that may help with the investigation to contact 101 quoting incident 54 of 7 March.”

One of the men was wearing Adidas trainers and one was described as being around 5ft 11ins.

All three spoke with a Rotherham or Sheffield accent and left the scene on motorbikes.
