2 arrested in Rotherham in connection with a stabbing incident early this morning

Two people, a 45-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, have been arrested on suspicion of attempt murder in connection with reports two men had suffered stab wounds on Eldon Road, Rotherham.

Two people, a 45-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, have been arrested on suspicion of attempt murder in connection with reports two men had suffered stab wounds on Eldon Road, Rotherham.

At around 1.20am this morning (Monday 18 June), officers responded to reports of an altercation on Eldon Road, Eastwood. On arrival, a 21-year-old man and 49-year-old man were found with suspected stab wounds and taken to hospital to receive treatment.

The 21-year-old sustained an injury to his stomach in the incident and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. The 49-year-old suffer a minor injury to his arm.

An investigation has been launched and officers are appealing for information and witnesses.
