Over the weekend Adele wrapped up the New Zealand leg of her world tour with some sad news for fans everywhere.

The Adele Live 2017 tour is the first time she has toured down under and she has broken records with her shows, playing to 200,000 people over two nights in Sydney and selling 40,000 tickets more than any other artist in New Zealand.

However, could it be for the first, and last time?

As reported by the New Zealand Herald the 'Hello' singer told her fans at the Mt Smart Stadium, "Touring isn't something I'm good at."

Going on to explain that applause makes her feel vulnerable and the only reason she's toured is because of the fans.

"I'm not sure if touring is my bag. The tour is my greatest accomplishment in my career," she said starting to cry, "When I think back to when I was 16, playing to nobody, and now...I appreciate it so much."

While nothing has been confirmed, in September last year there were reports that Adele wanted to take some time out to spend with with her son Angelo and last week the Australian Daily Telegraph quoted her tour manager saying after her shows in London,

"We may never see her again. Adele's been quoted as saying she won't tour again, she's doing this big tour as a recognition of her huge record sales and the enormous demand to see her live. It's impossible to tell what happens next."

Last night Adele performed in front of thousands in Auckland when the heavens opened. Luckily for the 'Set Fire to the Rain' singer a fan was on hand to give her a poncho!

Adele will now return to the UK for four dates in London in June and July.
