World champion skateboarders hit Sheffield

Catch them at The House Skatepark this weekend

The House Skatepark, based in Sheffield, will be fundraising for Cash for Kids this weekend at their annual House Comp event.

The event is breaking new ground in its 15th year, when it will become the first professionally live-streamed comp in the UK. They have teamed up with Sheffield-based extreme sports streaming company Technative and the extreme channel to bring the pro / sponsored section of this event, on 15th October, to a wider audience across the internet.

The House Skatepark broadcast will feature a commentary from a studio team of industry specialists, assembled to chart the chances of those competing for web-based fame and fortune. The prize fund is offering £2,500 for first place, £1,000 for second, £500 for third, £250 for fourth, £125 for fifth, and £75 for sixth place.

But if the streaming of the Pro / Sponsored event is a break from the norm, for the rest of the competition it's business as usual, right down to the now unchallengeable £5 to enter, skate or spectate on the day. Doors open at 10am so get there good and early to get your name down for either the 12 and Under comp for rising stars which starts at midday, or the Unsponsored section set for 1pm. The live-streamed Pro / Sponsored event is scheduled for 3pm.
