Roxy party set be “the reunion of a lifetime”
Huge 80's gig in Sheffield supporting Cash for Kids
One of Sheffield’s most famous nightclubs returns for one night to celebrate the city’s first weekend of freedom.
The “Back to The Roxy” event – which is booked to take place on Saturday, June 26th – is promising to be “the reunion of a lifetime” as it welcomes hundreds of revellers.
Over 700 tickets for the event have already been sold. Organisers are now predicting a sell-out as party-goers – starved of dancefloors since March 2020 – look forward to the first weekend of freedom.
With a capacity in excess of 2,000, and one of the most jaw-dropping lightshows in the country, few venues were more high profile than the Roxy that reigned supreme in Sheffield in the 1980s and 1990s
The nightclub became famous nationally as one of the venues for the ‘Hitman & Her’ TV series. Everyone from Kylie Minogue to the London Boys performed there.
Dirty Stop Out’s Neil Anderson that is helping organise the event said: “This really is the weekend we’ve been praying for since the first lockdown. Our ‘Back to The Roxy’ event really is set to be one of the biggest parties Sheffield has ever seen.”
The reunion party is also set to raise hundreds for the region’s most needy kids through its support of Hallam FM’s Cash For Kids.
The party is set to take place in the Roxy venue’s former Arundel Street home which is now the 02 Academy.
The ‘Back To The Roxy’ event follows the success of similar night back in 2019.
