With the grant we have received from Hallam FM Cash for kids, Parson Cross Community Development Forum will deliver a weeklong theatre workshop for young people within our community.

**

We hire a team of professional staff from Project Kids to deliver the workshops during the school holidays. Young people are given support to enable them to achieve and flourish within the theatre environment. They have the opportunity to develop a range of performance techniques to encourage independence that in turn improves their confidence, presentation, positive communication skills and teamwork.

Building young people's confidence and self-esteem is at the core of every activity and on average one in three of our children who attend the theatre weeks have special educational or additional needs. Every child has the option of taking part in script writing, picture board design, costume design, creating costumes, scenery and props. There is a choice of activities within the workshops that the young people can engage in such as acting, dancing, telling jokes, back stage support and music to which they choreograph and perform a full production at the end of each week, showcasing the skills and work they have produced.
