Thank You to Cash for Kids & Hallam FM

Children and all staff from Gleadless Valley Community Forum’s Playscheme want to say a massive thank you to Hallam FM and all the listeners who donated money to Cash for Kids.

With our grant of £500, around 30 of us are going to Barnsley Metrodome on a coach for a fun day out on February 28th. We had a vote in Junior Club on where we wanted to go and after Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which is to cold this time of year; Barnsley Metrodome came out the winner.

Amir, aged 9 said, “I’m right excited as I can play with my friends and go on lots of waterslides, it’s going to be right good. I don’t get to go swimming with my friends because I’m too little. We don’t go out much as Mum has 4 of us and it costs a lot”.

Wendy Furniss – Project Manager said, ”Our playschemes rely on the generosity of charities and people to fund our activities, without funding these children wouldn’t be able to access activities that some of their peers take for granted. The money has given children aged 8- 12 the opportunity to spend a day out with friends doing something they really want to do and to have fun. For some children, going on trips with Playscheme may the only time they get to go out of Sheffield this year."
