Rylan Clark-Neal has hit back at claims he's been fired from his spot on This Morning by taking to Twitter to defend his decision to have some 'time off'. The Celebrity Big Brother winner and former The X Factor contestant had originally posted a tweet on Wednesday revealing he needed time off, but deleted it after receiving a backlash from fans.

His original tweet read, “Rumours in press why I’m ‘leaving’ or been ‘axed’ from @thismorning . Truth is I need a break. I’ve been working constantly for 5 years and I need some time to myself.

"I will still be at Big Bro. I just need to take some time to myself. That’s all. I’ll be back soon xxx"

The tweet has now been deleted after some commented that those in the NHS knew what real hard work was. However Rylan has since tweeted, 'WHEN YOU PIT A NICE LITTLE TWEET UP AND PEOPLE PIPE UP..... I’ll just keep it simple....... I’ve not been sacked from @thismorning just having some time off that’s all. Night'.

When the announcement was made that Rylan will be taking a break, he joked that I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here winner and Made In Chelsea star Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo was replacing him by saying "Out with the old, in with the new".

This Morning announced that Toff would be taking up a place presenting on the show by posting a clip of the reality star on Twitter that read, 'We're so excited that @ToffTalks is joining the TM family! Stay tuned in the new year to find out exactly what she's been up to 💜'.

For any Rylan fans, you'll be able to see him on Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side. The latest series of Celebrity Big Brother will begin on Tuesday 2 January 2018 at 9pm on Channel 5.
