Former EastEnders actor Ross Kemp has shared the first photo of his newborn twins and announced their incredibly cute names.

The 53-year-old, who already has two children, shared a sweet photo of his wife Renee O'Brien and his two new daughters in hospital.

Revealing his daughter's names, Ross captioned the shot with, 'Mum, Ava and Kitty doing well! Dad overjoyed. Thanks to all at the hospital!'

Earlier in the day Ross shared a selfie of himself and Dr Lawrence Impey, both wearing hospital scrubs. He told fans, 'BIG THANKS to Lawrence Impey and his team. Very happy dad again.'

Ross and Renee married back in 2012 and welcomed their first son in 2015.

The couple decided to keep their pregnancy a secret until the birth when Ross announced his news on Twitter writing, 'What a day! Mum and baby doing well, Dad very proud! 6lbs 7oz, born at 10.54am. Happy boy, asleep already!'

Ross also shares another son from his previous relationship to Nicola Coleman.

Congratulations to the happy couple on the birth of their twins! 👶👶

Ross first made his EastEnders debut as hardman Grant Mitchell way back in 1990. The actor enjoyed a number of major story lines in the soap along with his on-screen brother Phil Mitchell and his on-screen mum Peggy Mitchell.

Ross left the soap in 1999 but made a return in 2005 when his co-star Barbara Windsor convinced him to go back for a brief period. He has since made a number of guest appearances on the show.

After leaving the soap, Ross became known for his award winning documentaries including Ross Kemp on Gangs and Ross Kemp's Britain.
