TV presenter Christine Lampard has revealed out of the blue that she is currently pregnant with her and her footballer husband Frank Lampard's first child together. The 39-year-old, who has been married to Frank since 2015, announced her pregnancy on Frank's Instagram with an adorable photo.

Posing with Frank and his two daughters from a previous relationship, Frank wrote, 'We have some exciting news we wanted to share with you. The Lampard family is growing! My gorgeous wife @christinelampard is pregnant and we all couldn’t be happier!!!'

Christine has now opened up about her surprise pregnancy in an appearance on Loose Women, revealing to her fellow panellists that she's actually as far along as 21 weeks!

Confessing that she found out "quite a while ago," Christine said, "I had that classic kind of anxious, kind of nervous superstition.

"It was like, 'let's get the big scan done and then you can open up and start to tell people'. I've just been really nervous because you're always thinking the worst."

Christine added that she and Frank, who's also 39, hadn't been trying for a baby at all, "I think sometimes that can consume you too much. It was very much a case of let's see what happens. I'm clearly not 18 any more so we weren't sure it was going to happen."

But the couple have been enjoying keeping their happy news a secret, "We've just had the loveliest time between the two of us, going, 'Oh my gosh I think it's going to happen, it's happening!'"

Frank was actually away when Christine took the pregnancy test, and she kept it a secret from him until he returned as she didn't want him to have the "craziness in his head."

Joking that she took about seven or eight tests to make sure, Christine beamed as she revealed her step-daughters had been ecstatic over the news.

She said, "Excited doesn't do it justice at all. I happened to say to them that apparently at this stage the baby can hear voices so of course straight away they're like, 'I'm your favourite sister'... They're chatting to my belly the whole time.

"They phoned straight away – they're just so excited. They want a girl, that's their only stipulation.

"When I had my scan, I lay there thinking that's amazing, look at that little leg, that's happening inside here," Christine gushed. "That's just incredible!"

Already over halfway through her pregnancy, Christine is expected to give birth around September this year.

Congratulations to the family!
