Police are looking to trace anyone who witnessed a fatal crash between a motorbike and a car in Swansea city centre.

The collision happened following an attempted traffic stop by South Wales Police on Friday night at around 8pm on St Helen's Road.

Police are asking witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch with them.

A 19 year old man from the Cockett area - who was riding the motorbike - was pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Wales force referred the incident to the police watchdog which is carrying out its own separate, independent investigation.

Detective Sergeant Lee Christer said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the motorcyclist.

“We understand there were a number of witnesses to the collision. We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have any dash-cam footage of the incident, or who witnessed the manner of driving of both vehicles prior to the collision.”
