Withybush Hospital in Pembrokeshire has closed its doors to visitors after a rise in Covid cases, a health board has announced.

Hywel Dda University Health Board stated on Monday 11 October that the hospital has been made inaccessible to visitors with immediate affect.

The decision was taken following increased cases of Coronavirus both in the hospital and the surrounding community.

Some visitors will still be permitted under certain circumstances, such as end of life care for patients and for critical visits.

All visitors who travel to the hospital under the new restrictions must take a lateral flow device (LFD) test at home beforehand.

Hywel Dda University Health Board are also asking visitors who must go to Withybush Hospital to wear face masks, comply with social distancing measures and to wash their hands regularly.

The situation is being monitored and the public will be updated as soon as restrictions can be safely lifted.
