The 37 year old from Killay in Swansea, was transferred to a hospital in Cardiff at the weekend. His friend Andrew Kissick told us: "He's still in a very, very serious condition the latest update we have had from his family. He has had two operations done recently. The first operation was to stabilise the fractures in his neck and the surgery was a tracheotomy to assist his breathing."

Family and friends are fundraising to help cover the cost of Nathan's rehabilitation and Andrew says they need people to keep donating: "The Just Giving page, it's got just over £96,000 - it is an amazing amount of money. But for what is needed for Nathan's rehab - as silly as it may sound, it really is not enough for what he needs."

"Four of Nathan's closest friends are now setting off on a challenge called Everest for Nath. Basically they're going up to the Lake District where they'll be hiking 29,032 feet which is the approximate height of Everest. They're going to do that over 40 of the Lake Districts biggest peaks."
