It follows a failure between professional Welsh sides and the Welsh Rugby Union over funding

Since 2017, Max Llewellyn has been a part of the Cardiff Rugby side, but the 2022/3 season will be his last - as he moves on to England.

The 23-year-old centre debuted back in 2018, coming up from the bench against the Ospreys at the Principality Stadium, and has since made nearly 30 appearances for the Welsh side.

He's got Welsh rugby in his blood, too, with his dad Gareth a 92-cap Welsh international - and his uncle also represented Wales.

However, amid the funding freeze hindering any hopes of a pay rise for Llewellyn between the Welsh WRU and the country's professional teams, it's now seeming increasingly likely he'll be leaving the club at the end of the 2022/3 campaign, and moving to an English club instead.

Currently, clubs across Wales are facing great uncertainty as a new funding deal is negotiated - with many not even knowing what their budgets will be going into the 2023/4 campaign.

It's as negotiations are currently taking place for a long-term finance model to help secure the future of the sport.

However, with a number of players seeing their contracts come to an end in 2023, much uncertainty faces clubs across the country, who hope a deal gets over the line soon.

Yesterday, Cardiff beat Brive 41-nil, meanwhile Dragons drew 31-31 with South Africa.
