We're expecting to hear from two of Wales' key medical advisors as the UK Covid 19 Inquiry gets back underway this morning.

The hearings in Cardiff are examining decisions made by the Welsh Government during the pandemic.

Today there will be evidence from Sir Frank Atherton - Wales' Chief Medical Officer - and Chief Scientific Advisor Dr Rob Orford.

Both men played key roles in the Welsh Government's response to the pandemic.

The inquiry is examining key decisions ministers here made - including the timing of lockdowns, introducing social distancing and rules around face coverings.

First Minister Mark Drakeford and the then health minister Vaughan Gething are expected to appear before in the inquiry in the coming days.

The inquiry in Cardiff is entering its second week - last week it looked at the impact Covid had on Welsh care homes, the timing of lockdowns and touched on Welsh Government ministers use of WhatsApp during the pandemic.
