Natural Resources Wales warnings climb to 9, with alerts at 50

The number of flood warnings across Wales has risen sharply overnight and into this morning as heavy rain continues.

Natural Resources Wales have issued 9 flood warnings and 50 flood alerts so far this monring, with heavy rain and strong winds set to continue.

The warnings include the River Gwendraeth Fawr at Pontyates and Ponthenry in Carmarthenshire and the River Towy between Llandeilo and Abergwili as well as the River Taf at Trevaughan, Whitland.

Carmarthenshire Council have warned people in those areas to be prepared for immediate action.
