Body found in hunt for missing Viv
Neath Port Talbot comes together to pay tribute to Vivian Davies
A body has been found in the hunt for a missing South Wales man, who was last seen on May 21.
Vivian Davies was walking in the Cwmafan area and his disappearance sparked a massive search.
The 87-year-old was a keen walker and after he went missing, the community in Cwmafan joined police to carry out daily searches of the surrounding hills.
Yesterday, specialist search team officers were combing a remote area of Cwmafan, where they said they found a body.
Police have praised the people of Neath Port Talbot for giving up their time to search for Vivian.
Formal identification has yet to take place, but Vivian’s family have been informed.
Chief Inspector James Ratti said: “I would like to thank all those who gave up their time to come out and help with the search for Vivian, and to those that called in with information.
"It was a testament to the community of Neath Port Talbot and I’m sure their thoughts, along with ours, are with Vivian’s family at this time.”
