Unite the Union has announced that they have suspended strike action due to take place on Monday 6th March after what they describe as 'significant progress in talks with Welsh Government.

Read their full statement below.

Unite had initially refused to suspend their strike action in early February, whilst other health care strikes such as the RCN nurses strike and the GMB's Ambulance strike were called off.

This was so they could let their members vote on a pay offer from the Welsh Government.

Last month, the GMB announced that their members had rejected the offer, with two thirds of members choosing to go back on strike. The Result of the RCN ballot has yet to be released.

Unite the Union released the following statement:

'Unite has suspended its strike action in Welsh Ambulance due to take place on Monday 6th March 2023. This follows significant progress in talks with Welsh Government. The pause in strike action will facilitate the continuation of these discussions.'

It is currently unclear if Unite will present an offer to their members to vote on.
