Two men charged with offensive weapon in Haverfordwest

Two men have been charged with grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon following an incident in Haverfordwest on Sunday

On Sunday 25th of August, two men were arrested with grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon.

The incident occurred in Haverfordwest in a car park.

The victim reports that they were attacked by a man with a hammer and was left with facial injuries.

The victim was taken to hospital but has been discharged.

Dyfed-Powys Police have released a stated in an appeal for witnesses.

“Two men have been charged with grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon following an incident in Haverfordwest on Sunday, August 25.

"Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of an assault in the car park on Salutation Square, Haverfordwest at around 4pm on August 25, 2024.

"The victim was reportedly assaulted with a hammer and sustained injuries to his face and head. They attended hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

"Four people were arrested later that day.

"Two men, aged 19 and 35, have been released with no further action.

"Joshua Lea (21) and another male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were charged and remanded to appear at Swansea Crown Court on September 27.

"We’re not looking for anyone else in connection to this incident, but we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, or has any information that could help with the investigation to get in touch online or by emailing 1, or by calling 101."
