Residents in a Gower village where two 19 year olds were killed in a single vehicle crash at a petrol station will pay tribute on Saturday afternoon.

A man from Landore and a woman from Blaenymaes died after an incident at Northway Garage in Bishopston at 11.15pm on Tuesday night.

A 17 year old girl from Penlan was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries - and a 17 year old boy from Birchgrove was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The road was closed for a number of hours whilst investigation work was carried out.

Special prayers will be said and flowers laid near the crash site on Saturday. Lucie Rees Sudbury from Bishopston Community Council told us: "We'd like to extend our deepest sorrows to the family and friends of the young people who sadly lost their lives and were injured in the accident at Northway on Tuesday night.

"As part of our Jubilee celebrations we will be having our proclamation read at 2 o'clock and we will be saying a special prayer for those who lost their lives and laying flowers near the crash site. We encourage anyone who wishes to express their sympathy to do so by laying floral tributes at the same site."

County Councillor Lyndon Jones is saddened by what has happened. He told us: "I was very sorry to hear the news that two people had been killed in an accident at Northway. I wish the two remaining passengers in the vehicle a full recovery. This is such a tragedy for all those affected and our thoughts are with the families at this difficult time."

The families of all those involved are being supported by specially trained officers.

The single vehicle collision involved a red Alfa Romeo Mito containing four occupants.

Anyone who may be able to assist officers in this investigation is asked to contact South Wales Police quoting 2200182514.
