Tributes Pour In For Mark Quinn
Cwmavon fundraiser loses long battle against cancer
Tributes have been pouring in for Cwmavon fundraiser Mark Quinn.
The football-mad former soldier has passed away aged 39 - following a long battle with cancer.
His friend Richard Gomez set up a JustGiving page to raise money for Mark's family.
He says they met in British Army in 1999. Richard said: " He was my stain but my brother. And even today we just love the pants off each other except he’s a Scouse red and I’m a mank red."
In a later tribute, he added: "Can't believe you have left us Quinny, I can't believe your gone. My words are very selfish, Cos I just wanted you to keep going on. You fought like a Soldier, You battled through pain. You didn't leave us behind Butty, Because we will see you again. A football fanatic, Got Liverpool FC in your veins. I will keep checking the scores mate, I will give you updates on the games. Hot dogs for supper, Then we will gather some sheep. Only joking brother, Dream happy in your sleep."
His family also posted on his Twitter account.
Former Liverpool footballers Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher tweeted their tributes.
