Train Strikes: How will they effect people across Wales
Nearly all train services across Wales will be cancelled today as part of National Rail strikes
More train strikes are expected today as the RMT Union once again walk out over pay and working conditions.
Train disruption is expected across Wales, with nearly all train services cancelled today, apart from a limited service between Cardiff and The Valleys.
Disruption is still expected despite Transport For Wales not being among those walking out today as they work alongside Network Rail workers, who are going on strike, for a majority of their services.
Tim Lewis from Transport For Wales explains 'We're able to run services between Cardiff and the South Wales valleys, but that's all that's able to run in Wales. So it's only around 10% of our normal services will be running. So that's around 100 services a day.
'Normally we'd be running just over 1000 services a day right across Wales and the borders.'
So what should you do if your travel plans are disrupted by todays strike action?
Tim Lewis further explains that 'through a Book With Confidence scheme on the Transport for Wales website, people can rearrange the tickets for another day so they'd be able to travel either on Sunday or into next week or they can get a full refund on their ticket without paying a fee for it as well.
'People should just check before they travel really because they'll be some knock-on effect from the strike action on Saturday into Sunday morning, trains will start later.
'So some services early on Sunday morning might not be up and running first thing. So it's important that people check before they travel.'
