For the first time since 2004, scheduled passenger services are set to return to Swansea Airport - and it's not too long to wait until they do.
Scheduled services are set to see a return with the one route to start with - between Exeter and Swansea, with the airport hoping to see an expansion over the course of 2023.
In a statement on their social media page, Swansea Airport said: "Scheduled Services Are Back!
"Swansea Airport are pleased to announce that Scheduled Services will re-launch from Swansea Airport this year!
"The end of March will see the start of services between Exeter & Swansea, joining the airport with Exeter provides interchange access to airports across the UK as well as the Channel Islands, Ireland and Spain.
"This is the first step in a long planned improvement plan for the airport which will see further infrastructure & services returning to the Airport over the year."
Well, hundreds of have added their thoughts to the news.
One comment from Alan Higgins said: "Absolutely brilliant news, can’t wait to use the new service."
Another, from Sal Howells, said: "Well done everybody. Hopefully it's the start of bigger and better things for the airport."
Swansea Airport is based on the Gower Peninsula, and used to offer flights across Europe, including Dublin and Amsterdam.
That was until Air Wales pulled out of operating from the airport - and then increasing operating costs followed for Swansea, meaning scheduled passenger services had to stop for good.
The Airport say that the details of the airline providing the new service will be 'published shortly'.
In a response to a comment on Facebook, they said: "More details will be published shortly along with the full schedule. However, full confirmation has been received today. Now the Airport is on the right commercial track we can bring in further improvements to improve for everyone."
