33-year-old arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and assault
Police are continuing to question a 33-year-old man on suspicion of attempted robbery and assault following an incident in Swansea yesterday (May 30).
It's after reports a man was stabbed on Union Street in the city centre.
The suspect is described as wearing a black mask over his face and riding a bicycle which had thick tyres.
Inspector James Wilson said: “Following the incident, a man took to a nearby roof on The Strand and a cordon was put in place for the safety of everyone in the area.
"The incident was brought to a safe conclusion around 2.10pm this afternoon with the support of police negotiators. We would like to thank everyone for their patience whilst emergency services carried out their duties.
“Officers are in the process of ascertaining the full circumstances behind the two incidents and the sequence of events that occurred.”
"A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempt robbery and assault. He remains in police custody at this time.
"We are appealing for anyone who was around Union Street or Oxford Street in Swansea between 3.20am and 3.50am who may have information in relation to the assault to contact us by one of the following means quoting occurrence number 2300175853."
