Storm Isha hits Wales with 90mph gusts

Homes are without power and there's a warning of travel disruption after Storm Isha hit Wales with gusts of up to 90 miles an hour.

The wind speed was recorded in Capel Curig in North Wales overight.

Whilst an amber weather warning has now passed - a yellow alert for strong winds remains in place for til midday.

National Grid tell us whilst power has been restored to many homes overnight - electricity is still off for some in Neath Port Talbot, Powys and Caerphilly County borough.

As many as three thousand homes are thought to have lost electricity during Sunday afternoon and evening.

GWR and Transport for Wales are urging people taking the train to check before they travel.

Gwent and Dyfed Powys Police are reporting trees blocking roads in their force areas.

Two flights have been cancelled from Cardiff Airport.
