South Wales Police confirms a body has been recovered from the River Taf

South Wales Police has confirmed the body of a man has been pulled from the River Taf this morning.

Multiple vehicles, including police vans, ambulances, fire engines and a forensics team, were at the scene on the junction between Wood Street and Tudor Street in Cardiff

The Wood Street bridge at one point was cordoned off, however it has since reopened to traffic and the public.

In a statement, South Wales Police says 'We can confirm the sudden death of man found in the River Taff, Cardiff, at around 9.45 am this morning.

'HM Coroner has been informed and an investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances of his death'.

The cause of death, as well as how the body ended up in the river, have yet to be determined.
