South Wales Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are among services asking people NOT to call 999 because of a technical fault.

Anyone calling in an emergency is being asked to call 1-0-1 instead.

The fault - which is affecting a number of services across the UK - apparently means many calls aren't connecting.

It's thought to be a BT issue which is currently being looked into.
