Wintry weather is having an impact on Covid 19 vaccination centres in parts of south Wales for a second weekend in a row.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health board says it's again having to close sites in Merthyr Tydfil and Abercynon today because of weather warnings for snow.

The health board has apologised for the disruption but says the safety of the vulnerable vaccination groups has to be the top priority.

Patients who were due to be vaccinated today will be contacted for their appointments to be rearranged.

As things stand, Merthyr Tydfil and Abercynon centres will re-open on Sunday (Jan 31), with all appointments due to go ahead as planned.

The health board says its closely monitoring the weather reports and latest information surrounding Sunday, and are in contact with Local Authority partners.

It's thought North Wales will be hit hardest by snow but forecasters say Carmarthenshire, Neath Port Talbot, the valleys and Powys may also see some wintry conditions until 6pm tonight.
