Witness appeal after motorcyclist dies in Pontycymer

Police have named the 37 year old rider involved in the fatal collision

Police have named a motorcyclist who died in a collision in Pontycymer on Friday morning.

Shane Paul Anthony Hall, 37, lost his life in a crash on the A4064.

South Wales Police say officers are continuing to investigate what happened and have launched an appeal for witnesses.

In a statement, the force said: "South Wales Police continues to appeal for witnesses to a single-vehicle road traffic collision which happened shortly before 6:30am on Friday May 10 on the A4064 in Pontycymer.

"The collision involved an orange KTM 125cc motorcycle.

"The family wish to name the deceased rider as 37-year-old Shane Paul Anthony Hale, from the Pontycymer area.

"They wish to thank all those who stopped at the scene and those who attempted to save Shane, and also for all the kind messages they have received since.

"The family wish to have privacy during this difficult time.

"We want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage; please contact us, quoting occurrence number 2400151509. "
