'Wonderful father' who died in Llantwit Major collision named

Jason Parker's family have released a statement as police continue to investigate his death

South Wales Police have named a man who died in a collision near Llantwit Major as Jason Parker.

The 42-year-old from Bridgend passed away following the incident, which happened on the B4265 at around 7:25pm on Tuesday.

The following tribute was provided by Mr Parker's family:

"Ceri and Evan Parker sadly announce the passing of their beloved husband and father, Jason Parker, aged 42 years, who was involved in a fatal accident on the evening of Tuesday 25th June 2024 in the Llantwit Major area.

"Ceri and Evan are conscious of the distress to his dear friends and fellow riders who were with Jason at the time of this tragic incident.

"Jason was a loving husband and a wonderful father to Evan, Amy, Casey and Ellie and a loving grandfather to Ruben.

"Ceri would further like to give mention to all of Evan’s friends and their parents from Brynteg Comprehensive School and Bridgend Sports RFC who have collectively supported them at this emotionally difficult time.

"Ceri would also like to thank all members of the emergency services who attended the incident on the evening, as well as South Wales Police Family Liaison Officers and the wider public for all their support and kind messages."

South Wales Police say they are continuing to investigate the collision, which involved a single green/black Aprilia motorcycle travelling towards St Athan.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or how the motorcycle was being driven prior to the incident, or has CCTV footage of either, is being asked to contact police on 101 or online, quoting reference number 2400210628.
